I asked my friend if she could translate Sugita’s interview from March 2010 B’s-Log (an otome game magazine), where in part 1 he talks about his work as a seiyuu. Link to Part 1 interview [here]! These were some highlights for me:
♥ “I talk a lot about anime and manga, so it’s easy to sum my talking up as “it’s hard to understand because it’s too obscure”, but it’s not like I pride myself in having amazing knowledge about these things. By talking about what I felt when I played or watched something, I’m hoping to make people think “oh, I played this game, too” or “there’s a production like this? Sounds interesting”, rather than brag about how much I know.”
♥ “By the way, when it comes to acting in otome games, my tension rises if the heroine is cute.”
♥ (There was a question on whether it was difficult to voice a character with a lot of lines) “When you have a character who says only a few lines, it is very important to bring the importance of every line in order to make the character stand out, so it’s equally difficult.”
♡(´・ω・`) I love this guy because he is so talented, yet he has so much humility.
